DWDM Solutions Executive

Sorrento Networks, part of the Comtek Group, offers Optical network infrastructure solutions providing innovative and flexible solutions to a wide range of customers including Internet content providers, service providers, enterprise, government, and research & education networks across the globe.

This Sales role will provide account management and business development for a range of customers, accounts and opportunities in the UK. With a focus on Financial Services along with the Public Sector, this role is part of an investment plan to grow Sorrento’s market share in the financial sector. There is also an expectation that this role will support other opportunities from other verticals, in particular the Public Sector. This will be achieved by either direct selling or working though Channel Partners.

The person engaged in this role can be based near to either our Chester or Reading offices.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Customer and partner facing sales leadership for the public sector and Financial Services sector
  • Business development activities to identify, engage and develop new Customers and Channel Partners
  • Account Management of Key customers; account planning, revenue growth ambition & stakeholder engagement
  • With support of our R&D teams, to drive the introduction of new concepts and capabilities into new customers and partners and feedback requirements from existing customers
  • Prepare quotations and proposals in response to inquiries and requests from customers and partners

Required Skills

  • A self-starter who takes the initiative, maintains and expects high standards
  • Ability to build strong and lasting customer relationships while supporting an overall sales strategy
  • Successful presentation and positioning of Sorrento products and services
  • Ability to analyse the market and create reports from which to drive future strategy
  • Informed and decisive decision making
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills

Required Experience

  • Excellent Knowledge of WDM fibre channel products
  • A minimum of 3 years in the WDM /Telecoms industry
  • Experience of closing deals in the WDM market
  • Experience of working with UK Finance and Data Centres
  • An excellent, proven track record in Sales Account Management

Trainee Sales Executives

We have exciting new trainee positions within in our sales team: Starting salary; Basic up to $40k. + Great Untapped Commission Scheme.
The right candidate can expect to earn around $80k after 12 months.

We are looking for energetic, aspirational, trainees to join our sales team in Pleasanton, C.A.

It would be advantageous to have some background in sales but full training will be given. We consider personality and potential to be far more important than experience. The ideal candidate will:

  • Candidates must be able to spend a period of two months in our European offices in the later stages of training
