Sorrento Networks Signs Dimension Data Italy to Resell WDM Solutions

DENVER — June 15, 2010 — Sorrento Networks has expanded its reseller partners in Europe with the addition of Dimension Data Italy SPA, an operational division of Dimension Data plc. Founded in 1983, Dimension Data helps clients spanning financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, manufacturing, government and education sectors plan, build, support and manage their IT infrastructures in 43 countries around the world.

Dimension Data first encountered Sorrento via its existing customer base. The company currently manages networks in Italy that utilize Sorrento's metro wave division multiplexing (WDM) solution. Dimension Data was impressed by the versatility and high level of reliability Sorrento's WDM products offered and signaled interest in incorporating Sorrento's product line into its customized IT solutions. As a result, Dimension Data Italy is now a reseller for the entire Sorrento Networks product family, which includes the Gigamux 1608/3200/6400/6440 and the GigaEdge 820/232.

According to the Infonetics Research 2010 edition of its Optical Network Hardware in EMEA: Europe, Middle East, and Africa report, the analyst firm forecasts a 12 percent revenue increase for the EMEA optical network hardware market in 2010 compared to 2009. Among the driving factors behind this growth, Infonetics points to a shift toward WDM and increased demand for more IP.
