Sorrento Networks Signs TelWorx Communications to its Channel ProgramDENVER — Oct. 27, 2009 — As the company continues to expand its reseller channel, Sorrento Networks, a global provider of metro optical access solutions, announced today that TelWorx Communications, LLC, has joined Sorrento's partner program. TelWorx, a certified provider of products, solutions and technical services for wireless, wireline, data centers and government customers, now offers Sorrento's GigaMux and GigaEdge product lines to its Tier 2 and 3 Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) customers in North America. "Traffic on the world's networks continues to increase, and our customers are searching for solutions to maximize the use of their fiber," said Tim Scronce, president and CEO of TelWorx. "Our company's mission is to understand our customers' needs and help them meet those needs — by partnering with Sorrento we have the ability to offer them a true competitive metro Ethernet DWDM/CWDM product portfolio and to design complete solutions for obtaining more bandwidth on their fiber." Sorrento's GigaMux DWDM platforms enable enterprise and service provider customers to deliver high-speed services that require a significantly reduced capital outlay and fewer management requirements than other optical networking products. A protocol-independent design allows the GigaMux platform to transport and extend the traffic of SONET/SDH, layer 2/3 Ethernet and SAN simultaneously and in their native format. This unmatched level of flexibility and control allows customers to add or upgrade bandwidth incrementally based on traffic requirements. Sorrento's GigaMux product portfolio includes the GigaMux 1600/3200, 6400 and 6440. Sorrento's GigaEdge Optical Services Provisioning Platforms (OSPP) aggregate the many different services found at the edge of the network and solve the high-capacity optical upgrade needs of customers. Sorrento's GigaEdge product portfolio includes the GigaEdge 232 and 820 series.
