GigaEdge 232

A small footprint TDM and CWDM access multiplexer

Sorrento Networks' versatile GigaEdge 232 is an integrated xWDM Muxponder and Transponder platform. This unit multiplexes any mix of four SONET or SDH, Gigabit Ethernet, SAN and video services onto a protected 4xAny Muxponder or hair-pins adjacent ports, thereby extending multiple broadband services to the edge of the network over existing fiber cabling. Performance monitoring is standard on all ports and drop & continue IPTV and Gigabit Ethernet ADM configurations are supported.

The GigaEdge 232 offers:

• SFP interfaces, supporting both grey (850/1310/1550) and colored optics options (CWDM and DWDM)
• Support for various 1+1 optical protection and client-protected configurations are supported
• Fully reconfigurable ports for standard protocols and rates, both at the TDM Mux and SFP layers
• Remote management via a standard DCC channel within the aggregate 2.5G stream
• A fully passive cooling system requiring no fans or air filters
