Optical Transport System Delivers Unsurpassed Performance, Scalability and Flexibility
Ideally suited for applications requiring low cost optical access, the GigaMux50 provides a single delivery platform for up to 4 optical services in a point to point configuration with the option for complete service protection. Optical port interfaces use standard field-installable SFPs (Small Form-Factor Pluggables) for maximum flexibility. In addition, the product design addresses key features required for simple and rapid deployment: compact form factor, reliability, manageability, and flexible connectivity.
GigaMux 50 can combine up to four independent optical channels — eight wavelengths (4 Transmit, 4 Receive) — onto one fiber, optionally protected, for cost-effective transport of data over extended distances. The wavelengths are then separated at the receiving end for seamless operation with existing equipment. With a wide range of connectivity options allows for the extension of many traffic types: Optical Fast Ethernet, 1.25 and 2.5 Gbps Gigabit Ethernet, ESCON, 1.0 and 2.1 Gbps Fibre Channel, FICON, and OC-3/12/48 (STM-1/4/16), the GM50 provides a simple to design, cost-effective solution to fiber access.
